Air India Flight Cancellations: In light of the rapidly changing circumstances in the Middle East, Air India has announced the immediate suspension of all flights to the region, as well as to and from the East Coast of North America and certain European destinations. The airline confirmed that flights bound for India from North America are being redirected back to their original departure points, while others are either returning to India or being rerouted to avoid closed airspaces.
In a statement shared on X, Air India noted, “Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, we have halted all operations to the region and to and from the East Coast of North America and Europe until further notice. Our India-bound flights from North America are being diverted back to their respective origins, and others are being redirected to India or alternative routes.”
The airline emphasized that it is in constant communication with its security advisors and is closely monitoring the situation. Air India reassured passengers that they will be kept updated on any developments.
“We appreciate the understanding of all passengers affected by this disruption, which is beyond our control. Air India is actively consulting with external security experts and is vigilantly observing the situation. The safety and security of our passengers and crew is our top priority,” the airline added in its announcement.

IndiGo Resumes Flights on Middle East Routes
In contrast, IndiGo has announced the resumption of its flight services on routes to the Middle East that were previously suspended. The airline stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and is evaluating the safest flight paths to ensure secure travel. Earlier, IndiGo had suspended flights from various cities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain due to the ongoing tensions in the region.
